Letter: Why I’m running for county commissioner
My opponent is a good man with a good heart, however, in the end, it’s about results. Eagle County continues to suffer housing, affordability, medical services, liaison to towns, infrastructure — the list goes on.
Again, some answers versus problems:
- Affordable home ownership builds equity; I’m aiming for a $133,000 starting price including land. Generational wealth is the result. And peace of mind.
- Lower taxes increase the velocity of money/economy and makes everyone thrive better. The tried and true Laffer Curve is the concept to emulate.
- My Eagle County 2050 Plan assures achievements are desired by the county overall versus a small group of folks and removes reactionary spending.
- Clean up the Board of Commissioners by amending the board from three to five members and removing the at-large component so we all have direct representation.
- Environment: You will find me relentless here. A marginal abatement cost curve will be our driving guideline for most reduction per dollar.
- Nature: Working with the Open Space plan, there are simple practices to create profit and jobs while preserving what’s left of (and increasing) our elk herd and bighorn sheep. I have experience doing exactly this with endangered species in Shaybah, Saudi Arabia.
In summary, I’m running because world-class best practices which I’ve utilized in more than 40 countries in more than 20 years, can fix this county once and for all in about one year. I kindly ask for your vote. People can build generational wealth at all levels. You as the reader, your children, grandchildren, and possibly your parents.
