Letter: Why I’m marching

I’ll be joining my friends in Eagle (and nationwide) on Saturday to stand up for reproductive justice, LGBTQ+ rights, democracy, the power of diversity, and solidarity with our immigrant population. At this juncture, we are faced with two choices: We can disengage and hope things turn out OK for us and those we care about or we can stand up and fight for what’s right. While it can feel like the burden is too great, please remember Joan Baez’s famous words: “Action is the antidote to despair.”

I hope to see you at Brush Creek Pavillion in Eagle on Saturday, Jan. 18, from 1-3 p.m. for the People’s March (formerly Women’s March). Bring your signs, dust off your pink hats, and join your old and new friends as we make our voices heard. Registration is suggested but not required.
