During any given week in the summer, you’ll likely find musical duo Tim and Taylor playing shows morning, noon and night at Cucina, La Tour, Four Seasons Resort Vail or the Tavern, but they took a day off to go to Moab, Utah to film the latest video for their new release, “Whatcha Say We Don’t.”
The song’s inspiration comes from trying to hold a relationship together.
“We like to call this a make-up anthem for anyone who is thinking about calling it quits. It’s about focusing on the good in the relationship even if it’s a little rocky sometimes,” Taylor Gore said, who is married to her musical partner, Tim Gore, in real life.
The idea to have Moab as the setting came about once they realized they wanted to capture that gypsy-out west-nomad vibe for the song. The vast and sparse landscapes of Moab led to the moody feel of the tune and so did the Apache Motel. The historic lodging option is labeled as “The Last Good Old Fashioned Motel” and was built during an era when popular films were showing the beauty of the West and everyone from movie stars to curious travels flocked to experience it.
The Gore’s credit getting this video shot in one day, pretty much half a day, due to the talents of their videographer Connor Tieulie of Denver.

“We know how to get these videos done quickly once we have a game plan in place,” Gore said. They have worked with Tieulie on six or seven videos over the past several years.
“He is a phenomenal videographer and creative that we are happy to call a friend and we plan to do many more projects with him over the years,” Gore said.

The video was shot in a remarkably short amount of time, but there were some mishaps behind the scenes. Tim left his wallet at home and he had a rent the Indian motorcycle that appears in the video in Glenwood Springs. He eventually got the rental but it was too small for him and not comfortable and he needed to ride it the nearly 200 miles to get from Glenwood Springs to Moab.
Tim also needed to buy cigarettes as a prop for Taylor during one of the scenes in the video. Connor and Taylor were getting some footage at the hotel and sent Tim out to get the cigs.
“They tried to ID him and he almost couldn’t get a pack but he somehow convinced them he was of age,” Gore said.
“Tim also had Connor cut the clips short when I smoked the cigarette because I just puffed on it and didn’t inhale. I don’t even know how to hold a cigarette much less how to puff on one. It was pretty funny,” Gore said.
They were trying to time filming so that the on-camera footage of them singing would be shot against a setting sun, but they ended up shooting after the sunset and the results were better than expected.
“The darker backdrop adds a dramatic effect to the video, it almost worked out better than if the sun hadn’t set yet,” Gore said.

The result is a song that resonates with fans and those new to Tim and Taylor’s sound. The video on their YouTube page received praise for the tough topic of breaking up or not.
“This song was pitched to us by our producer Brandon Hood. It was written by him, Lee Thomas Miller and Jeffrey Steele. I’d say we write about 80% of the songs we cut and release, but we also take outside songs if they are great, like this one,” Gore said.
The country music duo, formerly known as Austin’s Rose, have played in the Vail Valley since 2016, but they still manage to travel back to play shows in Nashville, Tenn. and other venues across the nation. Tim plays acoustic and electric guitar, harmonica and banjo. Taylor plays fiddle, guitar, piano and mandolin.
“Our next release will be “Lie With Me” on Sept. 22 and you can expect to start seeing a lot more music being released from us in the near future,” Gore said.
