Vail Valley Charitable Fund and friends rally for ‘Love for Lori’ fundraiser

Friends will gather on Thursday, April 17, at Route 6 Cafe in EagleVail from 5 to 8 p.m. to support Lori Fennessey, a longtime local who recently suffered a severe fall from an 8-foot ladder at home, resulting in multiple injuries.

Fennessey is facing up to three months of inpatient rehabilitation and working her way out of a wheelchair after suffering two broken ribs, an eye socket fracture, a humerus injury requiring 11 screws in her shoulder, five screws in her leg, fractured ankle bones, and a concussion. Funds raised will support Lori on her road to recovery.

This fundraiser will include live music with Kathy Morrow and Brent Gordon. Please plan for a suggested donation of $30 which includes dinner, one drink ticket, live music and a silent auction.

Proceeds will help Fennessey meet her financial obligations while out of work.

The Vail Valley Charitable Fund was created in 1996 to assist individuals who live and work in the Vail Valley and are experiencing financial hardship due to a medical crisis or long-term illness. The fund distributes one-time grants up to $7,500 and coordinates extended grant fundraisers for applicants requiring additional assistance. Since its inception, the VVCF has distributed $9.7 million to over 2,200 local families. For details about how to donate or apply for a grant, go to VVCF.ORG.
