Vail Mountain is putting trail signs up for auction for a good cause
Proceeds will benefit EpicPromise Employee Foundation, a charity that helps out Vail Resorts employees during hardships and provides educational grants

Want to own a piece of Vail Mountain? Now’s your chance during the Vail Mountain trail sign virtual auction. The resort will be putting up trail signs for auction and the proceeds go to EpicPromise Employee Foundation. The auction will begin online at 6 a.m. Mountain Time on Friday and go until 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
Before you start bidding, there are a few things to consider. The first thing is, do you have room for the sign? The dimensions are 7 feet long and 12 inches high. The second thing is to make sure you or someone else can pick up the trail sign in person.
Pick up times are on April 11 from 4-5:30 p.m. and April 12 from 10-11:30 a.m. Vail Mountain will not hold or ship signs. Specific location and other instructions will be provided after you have secured your winning bid and fulfilled payment. Please also note that these are the actual trail signs that are on the mountain and each trail sign will vary in condition.
The money raised will go toward the EpicPromise Employee Foundation which supports Vail Resorts employees and their dependents in times of need through employee hardship grants. It also provides educational scholarships.
The EpicPromise Employee Foundation is funded by an annual $500,000 contribution from Vail Resorts, as well as generous donations made by Vail Resorts team members and guests. The foundation will provide over $1 million in employee grants, with donations going directly to employees in need.

Vail Resorts suggests you register to bid so you are ready to go once the virtual auction opens on Friday morning. If you’re worried about being outbid, you will be sent a text to let you know once that happens and you can increase your amount. How do you know if your bid wins a Vail Mountain trail sign? When the auction is over and the system closes, your credit card will be charged only if you have won. You will then be sent a text and an email notification with confirmation of your payment.
