After welcoming wine lovers and foodies to the Donovan Pavilion for the Debut of Rosé on Wednesday, the Taste of Vail is taking it to the streets on Thursday for the Après Tasting on the Streets of Vail presented by Fitch Ranch Artisan Meat Company and Certified Angus Beef from 3-6 p.m. Weave through Gore Creek Drive, Meadow Drive and along the International Bridge and taste delicious bites and sip on great wines designed to go with the dishes.

“We’re proud to once again partner with Fitch Ranch Artisan Meat Company and Certified Angus Beef, our trusted sponsor for the Après Tasting for the second year in a row,” said Angela Mueller, executive director of the Taste of Vail. “This year, we’re turning up the heat with a bold cut: the steamship — a massive, flavorful cut from the back flank of the cow, each weighing over 100 pounds. This incredible centerpiece gives each chef the chance to flex their creativity and craft a unique dish that highlights their culinary style.”

The event will be judged by a select panel, but there is also a People’s Choice award, so don’t forget to show your support for the best beef on the streets. It will also be a party in the streets with Toyota bringing back its iconic Airstream and DJ setup for an epic mountain dance party. Like the Debut of Rosé, the Taste of Vail is offering a VIP add-on for the Après Tasting for Signature Pass holders.

“With our new VIP access, you can enjoy a private chef creating both savory and sweet bites along with rotating specialty cocktails plus curated wines and specialty beers,” Mueller said. “Relax in your exclusive VIP area, complete with comfortable seating, private restrooms and a VIP specialty gift bag.”

Another new offering this year is the Snowshoe at Grouse Creek Trail in Minturn. Meet at The Hythe Vail in Lionshead and hop in a Toyota Sequoia at 10 a.m. on Thursday. From there, you’ll meet your guide at the trailhead and snowshoe around Grouse Trail and then enjoy warm empanadas and a tasting of Perchance Wine at Vail Mountain Coffee & Tea Company in Minturn.

Cap off Day 2 of the Taste of Vail with a dinner at La Tour in Vail village at 7 p.m. Taste the wines of Alma Rosa Winery in Santa Barbara County with winemaker Samra Morris and the culinary pairings from executive chef and owner of La Tour, Paul Ferzacca.
