Man arrested in Gypsum following shelter-in-place alert

The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office issued a shelter-in-place alert for Gypsum on Thursday night following several calls before arresting a 29-year-old male who was reported to have entered several homes in the area of Quail Circle and Pinon Street.

The alert was issued at 10:02 p.m. alerting residents to a “possibly armed party” and then lifted just 14 minutes later after deputies apprehended the suspect with the assistance of the Colorado State Patrol, according to a press release.

A thorough search of the area was conducted and a firearm was not located, the Sheriff’s Office said.
