Prominent Vail real estate agent cleared of all criminal charges
A felony stalking charge that was brought against prominent Vail real estate agent Timothy “Tye” Stockton was dropped by the prosecution last week and the case was dismissed.
Stockton was charged with “stalking — emotional distress,” a class-5 felony, and arrested by the Vail Police Department on Dec. 27. Stockton posted a $2,500 bond and was released on Dec. 28.
Stockton was accused of placing an Apple AirTag tracking device inside of a vehicle, according to the arrest affidavit.
The district attorney’s office, after reviewing the information associated with the AirTag, said it did not have enough evidence to move forward with the case. Another misdemeanor charge of domestic violence, reported by the Vail Police Department at the time of the arrest, was not brought forward against Stockton, as well.
Stockton, whose real estate sales totaled more than $144 million in 2022, made numerous appearances in court in Eagle County in 2024.

As the case was being heard, the alleged victim became non-communicative with the court, according to the DA’s office.
“We have spent multiple resources to try and get a meeting with her, to get in contact with her, we are unsuccessful,” an assistant district attorney told the judge in March.
Stockton has brokered some of the Vail area’s largest real estate deals, including representing the buyer in the Aug. 2020 sale of 99 and 100 Vail Road for $57,250,000 — a new record for the Vail market.
