Obituary: Steve Kirkpatrick

Longtime Vail Valley resident Steve Kirkpatrick passed away on Jan. 7, 2025. He worked throughout the valley as a drywall finisher, specializing in high-end homes. Many of those who hired him and worked with him regarded him as an artist, so skilled was he at his craft. Steve was an active volunteer in the community, working the American Ski Classic for many years. He also was part of a group of Christmas carolers that annually dressed in full Dickensian costumes (including top hat and tails) and spread holiday cheer throughout the community. He is survived by his sister Joy Duron of Colorado Springs and her family. A celebration of his life with be 2-4 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at the Homestead Grill and Golf Club, 11500 W. Hampden, Lakewood.
