Obituary: Leila White
February 13, 1937 – January 5, 2025
Leila White, a beloved member of the Vail Valley community and dedicated volunteer, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, at the age of 87, in Castle Pines, Colorado.
Leila moved to the Vail Valley in 2002 and spent many years sharing her warmth, spirit, and dedication with the people she met along the way. Her heart and passion for her community were evident through her many years of volunteer work. She gave selflessly of her time at the Vilar Center and the Gerald Ford Amphitheater, enriching the cultural fabric of the valley. Her dedication was not confined to the arts, as she also devoted time as a volunteer with Vail Guest Services, where her friendly presence and caring nature made her a cherished figure among locals and visitors alike.
Leila’s impact was felt far and wide, not only through her volunteer efforts but through the countless friendships she formed during her life. She had an innate ability to connect with people and was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to making the world around her a better place.
Leila’s family and friends will remember her as a woman of grace and strength, always ready with a warm smile, a listening ear, and a helping hand. Her legacy of service, love, and compassion will continue to inspire those who were lucky enough to know her.
A Celebration of Life will be held this July in Vail. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in honor of Leila. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. May she rest in peace.
