Soak in the fall colors without any effort. No sweating on the hiking or biking trail, no driving for miles and miles on winding roads, you can view it all from a unique vantage point and save some dough this off season at Lookout Bar at the Westin Riverfront Resort in Avon.
This new venue primed with creative cocktails and a bespoke dishes offers a bird’s eye view of Beaver Creek and Bachelor Gulch as well as the Eagle River and Game Creek Bowl, and is also offering 20% off all food and drinks throughout the fall. Situated on the fifth floor of the easternmost building of the new One Riverfront development adjacent to the Westin Riverfront Resort, the seating layout along the windows that can be moved to reveal an open-air experience is unlike anything else in Eagle County.

Pair this setting with expertly crafted cocktails and delectable bites and you’ll have a perfect date night, girls’ night out, special occasion treat or a fun office party. While at the Lookout Bar, go off the beaten path and try a new cocktail, many of which are named after trails on the mountain, and you may be amazed at the presentation. For example, try the Birds of Prey drink that comes in a glass shaped like an egg with smoke effects. Or share a cocktail experience by ordering the Intertwine Switchel for two with Buffalo Trace Bourbon served out of an interesting container.

“Intertwine is the name of a ski trail on Beaver Creek Mountain and switchel is a punch style cocktail typically made with ginger, honey and other spices, ours is complimented by bourbon and peach,” said Sarah Grassechi, assistant director of food and beverage at the Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa.
Gin drinkers will enjoy the Strawberry Park with Beefeater Gin, strawberry, lime, tonic and coffee. Martini lovers will have to try the Double Diamond Martini with Aspen Vodka, Gin Mare, dry vermouth with herbal flavors.

Grassechi said the cocktail menu is driven by seasonal ingredients where you can find things like peach switchels in the summer and warm glogg in the winter.
“We champion innovation and creativity to complement our hospitality. At Lookout Bar, we love being able to surprise and delight our guests, wanting you to have a memorable experience in more than one way,” Grassechi said.
Soak up your cocktails with sharable dishes that celebrate the mountain culture with a nod to Nordic ethos. Try the raclette and dumplings or the open-faced smoked salmon sandwich that is cut into small pieces for sharing.

“Our menu at Lookout Bar revolves around simple, pure food, prioritizing locally and ethically sourced ingredients whenever possible,” said executive chef Angel Munoz, Jr., who also leads the team at Stoke & Rye and the Lobby Bar in the hotel.
“The menus in Stoke & Rye and the Lobby Bar are a little more traditional and intended to be for a meal, especially in Stoke & Rye. Lookout Bar’s food program is intended to compliment the cocktails with lighter fare, Munoz, Jr. said. “While the menu is focused on small bites and snacks, a meal can be easily be made if so desired.”
