Core Transit will switch to its new summer schedule beginning April 14.
What’s new this summer?
- Highway 6 Westbound (Vail to Edwards) route: The 1:05 a.m. trip from the Vail Transportation Center (VTC) will continue.
- Highway 6 Eastbound (Edwards to Vail) route: Extra trips added throughout the day.
- Valley Eastbound (Dotsero/Gypsum to Vail) route: Two more eastbound trips from Dotsero.
- Valley Westbound (Vail to Gypsum/Dotsero) route: An extra midday trip to Dotsero. Plus, the 1:05 a.m. Highway 6 bus from Vail continues to Gypsum.
- Leadville route: Double the number of daily trips to Leadville.
- Minturn route: Five extra trips daily.
- Vail/Beaver Creek Express: Will not run in summer 2025.
While most rides on Core Transit are free as of last May, riders traveling to or from Gypsum or Leadville (including the EGE Airport) will still need to pay a fare — $3 one way for Gypsum, $7 one way for Leadville. Core Transit eliminated payment via cash onboard on March 17. Instead, riders can use Core Transit’s Mobile Fares app, purchase a loadable card, or get a printed ticket at the Vail Transportation Center office or Maintenance Service Center office in Gypsum.
