Skiers and snowboarders will be ripping down the slopes at Copper Mountain Resort for an extra two weeks, thanks to above normal snowfall this season across Summit County.

In the weeks leading up to closing day, which is now on May 11, Copper has packed its schedule full of events.

New to Copper this year is the Aerie Sunset Ski Series, set for Saturday, March 15, and Saturday, April 19. The new event will allow guests to have specialty access to terrain off the American Eagle and Excelerator lifts.

With the evening centering around Copper’s mid-mountain lodge, Aerie, guests can then get off the slopes, get food and enjoy live music from the Chris Bauer Trio on March 15 and Beau Thomas on April 19.

On April 26, skiers and riders are invited to close out another great season with Peace Out in Central Park. The event will feature a special park event in Central Park with a refreshed build, fun features, swag giveaways, cash for tricks and music. Pro snowboarder and original Peace Park creator Danny Davis is scheduled to be at the event to celebrate the terrain park he founded.

Copper’s spring celebration, Sunsation, is slated for April 26-27. Guest are encouraged to visit the resort to celebrate the end of the season in Center Village with free live music and giveaways.

For the third year in a row, Slush Rush will return to Copper on May 3. Guests are encouraged to assemble a team of three to compete in a relay race that will combine several snow sport competition favorites.

Featuring three different snow sport disciplines including the superpipe slalom, cross course and the rails and pond skim, the team with the quickest overall timed run will be named on the Slush Rush Trophy.

Additionally, Copper will have two live musical performances on March 22 (Stereo Transmission) and May 3 (El Paso Lasso), the final race in the Mammut Uphill Race Series on April 12 and the final Bubly Tubing Spindig of the season on April 13.
