Avon’s Post Boulevard to undergo lane closures throughout September

Construction will run through October, drivers should watch for traffic control devices, detours, flaggers

Work began on Post Boulevard in Avon on Sept. 3, and will include intermittent road closures through October.

On Tuesday, Sept. 3, work began at the Post Boulevard roundabout at Fawcett Road and Crescent Hill Road. There will be intermittent lane closures on Post Boulevard through October. 

Anticipate delays and added commute time in the area, and watch for traffic control devices, detours and flaggers.

Scott Green Excavating is removing concrete sidewalk and curb to install an electrical vault and storm sewer. Asphalt patching, milling and asphalt overlay will take place, and a new concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter will be constructed. A new driveway pan and island with asphalt paving will be constructed on Crescent Hill Road for a new residential development community.  



The schedule is as follows:

  • Sept. 3-6: Removal of sidewalk and curb with installation of new electric vault
  • Sept. 9-10: Installation of new storm sewer tie-in on Post Boulevard with asphalt patching
  • Sept. 11-28: Concrete work, including installation of new island, curb and sidewalk at development entrance
  • Oct. 2: Post Boulevard roundabout asphalt milling and overlay
  • Oct. 2-5:  Asphalt paving at new Crescent Hill Road
