Vail business leaders join Ascent Sotheby’s

VAIL — Three Vail business leaders — Frank Johnson, Malia Cox Nobrega and Krista Behr — have joined Ascent Sotheby’s International Realty as associate brokers. These recent additions bring the total number of staff to 22, including 18 brokers, and contributed to the opening of a second office on Bridge Street in Vail Village earlier this year.
A Vail Valley resident for 30 years, Johnson brings a background in tourism, hospitality, real estate sales and consulting to Ascent Sotheby’s. In addition to his work with Ascent Sotheby’s, Johnson is currently general manager at the Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa and vice president of marketing for Gemini Resorts Management.
Prior to his current positions, Johnson was president of the Vail Valley Tourism & Convention Bureau for 14 years.
Nobrega, a lawyer-turned real estate professional has more than two decades of experience in the local real estate industry. Nobrega relocated to the Vail Valley in 1979, where she graduated from high school. She earned a degree in business administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a law degree from the University of Denver.
After a brief career in law, Nobrega joined the family real estate business, Crossroads Realty & Management, which opened in Vail in the early 1970s. Combining husband Jay’s background in construction, the two formed, and are now partners in Vail Construction Group as well as Vail MillWorks, a custom woodwork company.
